How Old Missabie shut down operations of a logging camp "Sometime around 1920s a logging camp was operating at the west side of O-bawb-ika lake, which are Misa'bi lands. So Old Missabie who was over 100 years old at this time, snowshoed some 20 miles all the way to Bear island to see Chief Frank Whitebear. He told him about the camp and Chief walked there and told loggers to stop cutting. They did not cut any trees for a month. Recently I visited the place of this abandoned long time ago camp.
